It all started during COVID.

While everyone else was obsessed with making sourdough bread, Nick, our Master Vintner, wondered, “What can I make wine out of?”

Turns out, a lot of things… like fruit. Like what grapes are (shocker). After his first batch of strawberry wine, he declared, “Shit, I want to make wine for a living…”

Our Crazy-but-true story

Bree is pregnant in a pink dress and green cardigan, smiling, and is being embraced from behind by Nick wearing a cowboy hat and striped shirt, both standing in front of a cactus-themed mural. A Mexican blanket drapes over a chair nearby.

Within two years, we’d moved to 3 acres in the booming area of San Tan Valley/Queen Creek, and:

  • cleaned up our overrun-with-weeds property

  • built the winery

  • had a baby

  • started our first three batches of wine

If you couldn’t tell, we’re not like other wineries in Arizona. We’re nowhere near the viticultural regions of the state. We don’t have a tasting room. And we don’t grow our own grapes (yet).

But we're determined. Eventually, the name “Sunbeat Cellars” will be known as one of the top wineries in Arizona. You can bet the farm on it – your farm, that is, not ours.

Hands off our farm.
